According to several local Ulbany, New York State newspapers, online reports and a news posting at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering ("CNSE") of the University at Albany, Vistec Lithography Ltd, based in Cambridge, England will relocate its complete operations to a refurbished facility close to the nanotech research hub by mid-2007.

Vistec Lithography, which specializes in E-Beam technology, will receive $30 million in State and Regional grants to assist in the move, according to the reports. It is expected that the 25 employees based in Cambridge will relocate. More jobs are expected to become available both directly and indirectly.

Update: 23.10.2006

The UAlbany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) has officially confirmed that Vistec Lithography Ltd will relocated its complete operations to a refurbished facility within the Watervliet Arsenal. No official statement has yet been made by Vistec separately.

As part of its move, Vistec will be establishing joint R&D operations at the UAlbany NanoCollege under a newly created Center for Nanolithography Development so that Vistec will be able to conduct its most advanced research and development of electron beam lithography equipment in the interdisciplinary fields of nanotechnology in partnership with the faculty and students at the College. This Center will not only support Vistec's research and development, but will also provide a workforce training capability for the newly-created high-technology jobs being located at the Arsenal.

Over a five-year period as part of its partnership with the Arsenal and Business Technology Partnership (ABTP) and the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany, Vistec is expected to invest $125 million at the Arsenal Campus and will create 130 high-technology jobs, according to the CNSE press release.
