VLSI Research lists Top Ten critical subsystems suppliers for 2007 Print E-mail

ImageVLSI Research, the industry market research firm, has said that critical subsystems suppliers that provide components and larger integrated systems to semiconductor and photovoltaic equipments suppliers saw sales boosted by the growth in the PV industry and sales in the flat panel sector as revenues in semiconductor were lacklustre in 2007.Write Comment (0 comments)

Swagelok acquires semiconductor hose specialist Coreflex Print E-mail

ImageSwagelok Company has acquired Coreflex LLC for an undisclosed sum. Coreflex is a manufacturer of high-quality hose products used mostly in semiconductor, biopharmaceutical, and other cleanroom sectors. The acquisition is designed to broaden its offerings in the hose market, the company said.

Entegris buys into poly silicon products company IMI Print E-mail

ImageEntegris has said that it has spent $8 million on a 14 percent equity stake of privately held Integrated Materials, Inc. (IMI), which specializes in poly silicon-based components, in particular for semiconductor diffusion furnaces. The agreement will also allow Entegris to purchase the remaining equity of IMI upon completion of certain closing conditions, according to the company.

Dutch conglomerate acquires Integrated Dynamics Engineering Print E-mail

ImageAalberts Industries (AI) has said that it has acquired an 80 percent shareholding in Integrated Dynamics Engineering GmbH and 100 percent ownership of sub-systems supplier Integrated Dynamics Engineering, Inc. IDE will be integrated into AI’s Industrial Services division to boost its presence in the semiconductor industry and specifically in the field of lithography, according to the company.

Emerson sells Brooks Instrument to private equity firm for $100 million Print E-mail

ImageEmerson has sold its specialty flow measurement and control division Brooks Instrument to private equity firm American Industrial Partners for approximately $100 million in cash. Brooks Instrument had sales of approximately $90 million in 2007, according to Emerson.

Peak International diversifies into 300mm wafer carriers Print E-mail

PeakIn an effort to diversify and expand its business, Peak International has started selling 300mm wafer shippers and is expected to bring to market several more versions in 2008. The company has secured its first customer for its ‘UltraCare’ wafer shipper and has built a new dedicated cleanroom to ramp production with a third cleanroom already under construction, the company said.
