TSMC has announced a batch of the purchase orders for semiconductor equipment from Tokyo Electron (TEL), valued at approximately US$26.6 million. TSMC’s chief executive officer approved the transaction after the procurement department had completed a price comparison and negotiations, according to the TWSE filing.

TEL had received orders from TSMC in January, 2011 valued at approximately the same amount. Specific details of the tools ordered were not disclosed.
