Taking place during the three-day period from October 6th to 8th, Semicon Europa looks set to turn the focus of the IC industry from gloom to one of aspiration, confidence in the future and innovations. Messe Dresden in Germany will house the exhibitors and visitors, and with over 650 exhibitors registered for Semicon Europa 2008, SEMI, the organisers, hope to exceed last year’s success with the 2009 event.
Focusing on “the real needs and challenges of the semiconductor industry in Europe”, this year’s event will see time dedicated to discussions on fab enhancement, including sustainability, cost control and productivity. Semicon Europa’s Science Park will provide the chance to discuss possibilities for future technology development and innovations with institutions including Fraunhofer institutes CNT, ENAS, IPA, IWS, as well as IMEC, EFDS (European Society of Thin Films), Semitec and MiPlaza, among others.
A special focus this year will see time dedicated to the secondary and refurbished equipment market. Cost advantages and ease of procurement is causing a boom in this industry, especially the European market.
The conference will also address the perennial topics of discussion, including MEMS/MST, test/packaging, SEMI standards and a market briefing.
