Qimonda has appointed ATREG, a division of Colliers International, Emerald Technology Valuations LLC and Gordon Brothers Commercial & Industrial to oversee the sale of its Richmond,(Sandston) Virginia 300mm DRAM fab due to bankruptcy. This is the first operational 300mm fab to be closed and made available for sale in a decade since the first 300mm fabs were constructed.

Qimonda said that the complete facility would be open to offers but the equipment and other facilities would be sold separately should a buyer for the complete fab not be found.

The fab, which cost Qimonda approximately US$3 billion, started production in 2005.
