Lam ResearchLam Research has opened a new 3,600-plus square foot facility in Hsinchu, Taiwan that will become Lam’s global center for customer training, related to its 200mm and 300mm etch processing tools.

“Localized training not only saves our customers the time and expense of travel, but also facilitates securing more comprehensive training,” said Daniel Liao, Lam Research’s Group VP, Asia Pacific. “This new training center will enhance support to customers in all regions, in particular, in the expanding Asia Pacific market.”

Courses will be taught in both English and the local language. Lam said that other tools could be installed dependent on customer demand.
