The Fab Owners Association (FOA) recently decided to open its group purchasing contracts to all its members. Previously, group purchasing had only been available to the Association’s device maker members through FOA’s affiliate organization, FOA Purchasing Partners, Inc. (PPI). Now with the inclusion of all members, equal access will be given to the 18 preferred vendor agreements negotiated over the past one and a half years by PPI. This new option will also help members negotiate group-purchasing contracts with the added leverage of a combined membership revenue of over $73 billion.

“The inclusion of all our FOA members in our GPO will greatly expand our procurement efficiency programs,” said L.T. Guttadauro, Executive Director of the FOA and President of FOA PPI. Guttadauro added, “With the FOA Board of Directors’ approval allowing all 56 members to access current preferred vendor agreements and with members supporting the addition of new buying categories, we expect PPI to provide exceptional procurement efficiency.”

Membership applications will be sent to all qualifying members with an anticipated start date for collective acquirement in the first quarter of 2009.
