Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. has announced the appointment of Shinichi "James" Machida as President and CEO, effective from June 23rd, 2008. Machida leaves his role as President of Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte. Ltd. (FMAL) in Singapore, and Fujitsu Microelectronics Pacific Asia Ltd. (FMP) in Hong Kong, and replaces Kazuyuki Kawauchi, who takes up another role with Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited, Japan in September. Read more >>

The newly-announced STMicroelectronics and NXP Semiconductors joint venture, dubbed ST-NXP Wireless, has announced the management team that will steer the new company following its completion in the third quarter of 2008. The Memorandum of Understanding signed between NXP Semiconductors and Thomson in February this year comprised an agreement between the two companies to combine their can tuner modules operations in a joint venture. In a statement released by Infineon yesterday, the company announced the resignation of Dr. Erk Thorsten Heyen, Corporate Vice President and head of Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions. Conexant Systems, Inc. has apointed William E. Bendush and Matthew E. Massengill (pictured) to the company’s Board of Directors, bringing the total number of members to eight.
