Nabeel Gareeb leaves MEMC

Nabeel Gareeb, President and Chief Executive Officer of MEMCNabeel Gareeb, President and Chief Executive Officer of MEMC resigned his executive position and seat on the Board of the major polysilicon supplier to the semiconductor and photovoltaics industries. Gareeb will assist in a transition through the end of 2008, while Board member Marshall Turner will serve as interim CEO, effective November 12, 2008. The search for a permanent replacement for Gareeb will be conducted during this period.

Alberto Bozzo new corporate VP and GM for AMD’s Europe, Middle East and Africa regions

Alberto Bozzo has been named AMD’s new corporate Vice President and General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective January 2009. He will be in charge of all sales and marketing operations within EMEA and succeeds Emilio Ghilardi who was recently made AMD’s Chief Sales Officer. Read more >>

ASML announces Board of Management changes for 2009

ASML Holding NV has publicized Klaus Fuchs, VP Operations, has given confirmation to the Supervisory Board that he will resign from his position on the Board of Management as of 1 January 2009. The Supervisory Board is expecting to designate Frits van Hout, presently in charge of an all-inclusive efficiency improvement program, as the new member of the Board of Management, subject to notification of the general meeting of shareholders scheduled on 26 March 2009. Frederick A. Ball appointed as newest member of Advanced Energy’s Board of Directors

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc., announced that Frederick A. Ball was selected as the newest member to the company’s Board of Directors. eSilicon has recently announced its promotion of Rob Cadman to Vice President of European Sales and Operations. Cadman will continue to be based in eSilicon’s UK office and will manage the operations that have led to eSilicon becoming one of the fastest growing and largest fables semiconductor companies in Europe. The team of over thirty people he leads is made up from the sales, design services and support functions departments.

Ralph Schmitt named President and CEO of PLX Technology

PLX Technology, Inc. announced that it has selected Ralph Schmitt, a 25-year semiconductor and systems business veteran, as the new President, CEO and member of the company’s board of director’s effective 3 November. Schmitt is succeeding Mike Salameh, who was co-founder and CEO of PLX since 1986. Although retiring, Salameh will continue as a full-time employee for a short transition period and remain as a member of the board of directors. Read more >>

AMD reshuffles executive positions with new Chief Operations and Administrative Officer and CSO

AMD’s Bob Rivet and Emilio Ghilardi have been recently appointed Chief Operations and Administrative Officer and Chief Sales Officer respectively. Rivet will continue his role as CFO and Ghilardi as Senior VP and GM of Sales for EMEA until replacements are found. Both are due to begin their new positions at the beginning of 2009. Read more >>

NXP selects Michael Noonen as Senior VP

NXP Semiconductors recently appointed Michael Noonen as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing with his new position taking effect from 10 November 2008. Noonen will concentrate on directing NXP’s worldwide sales and marketing teams in order to strengthen the go-to-market strategy and implementation in order to achieve revenue growth and value creation for new and current customers. Part of NXP’s Executive Management Team, Noonen will be based in San Jose, California, and report directly to CEO, Frans van Houten. Read more >>
