Amkor Technology, Inc. has announced its plans for an executive shake-up on October 1st, as it revealed that company CEO and founder James Kim (pictured) will become Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and Ken Joyce, President and COO, will take the reins as well as a seat on the board of directors. Globalfoundries has announced two new members of its executive team: Norm Armour, newly-elected vice president and general manager, and Eric Choh, vice president of operations. A subsidiary of M+W Zander US, Inc., Total Facilities Solutions (TFS) has added to its executive team with the addition of high-tech industry veteran Joe Cestari as president. With this new role, Mr. Cestari will take on responsibility for the development of markets, regional expansion and the establishment of a strategic plan for TFS products and services focused on OEMs and large-scale process systems suppliers. Silicon Storage Technology (SST) announced the appointment of former Spansion CEO Bertrand F. Cambou as its president. His office goes into effect on 8 June 2009 where he will be reporting to Bing Yeh, executive chairman and CEO.  SST is a leader in flash memory technology and in this company, Cambou will be in charge of the core NOR flash memory business, including its technology development, manufacturing operations, and marketing in addition to other departments. Bolstering the company’s research team, iSuppli Corp. has added former Samsung and Intel executive Michael Yang to its research team. Bringing a wealth of semiconductor-related experience to the company, Mr. Yang’s responsibilities as senior analyst, mobile flash memory and storage solutions will include overseeing research of mobile flash memory and hard disk drives as well as Solid State Drives (SSDs), which sector he initiated during his seven-year tenure at Samsung. NXP Semiconductors has appointed Ruediger (‘Rudy’) Stroh as General Manager of the identification business, taking over from Christophe Duverne, whose new role will be announced in the coming days. A former Siemens and Infineon executive, Mr. Stroh brings several years of operations management experience to the role. Subramani Kengeri has moved from TSMC to newly formed GLOBALFOUNDRIES as Vice President of Design Solutions. At GLOBALFOUNDRIES, he will report to Mojy Chian, who recently joined the company as senior vice president of design enablement. Kengeri was the head of TSMC’s U.S. based design centre. Read more >>
