His responsibilities will include the sales and marketing of VLSI's main research products and services on weSRCH, the organisation's online discussion board for professionals in the industries of medicine, high technology and green technologies.

With his new position, Martinez is also expected to play a part in developing and putting into fruition important corporate strategies.

"We expect him to be a tremendous asset for VLSI as the company seeks to strengthen its position and reputation within high technology and related industries."

Martinez comes into his new title with over 20 years of experience with broad-based high technology in both marketing leadership and general management positions. Previously, he worked as vice president of worldwide marketing for Photronics and later as vice president of Aviza Technology. Before joining Photronics, Martinez was corporate vice president of MCA, a public relations firm in the Silicon Valley.
