STMicroelectronics has announced plans to improve the effectiveness of its marketing and sales structure by merging regions in Asian into two categories: Greater China & South Asia and Japan & Korea. Effective from January 1, 2010, the change will also call for a restructuring in management within the regions.
Corporate Vice President Francois Guibert (pictured) will lead the Greater China and South Asia region. Guibert has worked in the Asia/Pacific region for STMicroelectronics since 2006. Shanghai will act as the Greater China and South Asia region’s headquarters for sales and marketing while manufacturing headquarters will remain in Singapore.
The current head of STMicroelectronics, Corporate Vice President Marco Cassis, will lead the Japan and Korea region. Cassis has headed ST Japan since September 2005.
Additionally, the company is exploring ventures in the Americas. Corporate Vice President Bob Krysiak will direct the company’s expansion into Central and South America. Krysiak has previously established STMicroelectronics’ Greater China structure and regional headquarters in Shanghai.
Andrea Cuomo will continue work as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sales and Marketing for STMicroelectronics' Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
