Almost a year to the day that Fabtech reported on Thomas Seifert’s appointment as interim CFO for Qimonda, it appears that the industry veteran has moved to AMD to take up the CFO role and the title of senior vice president.
Replacing Robert Rivet, who was recently promoted to chief operations and administrative officer, Siefert brings over 20 years of experience in financial, operations and management positions within the semiconductor industry.
“Thomas is a talented industry veteran with a wealth of knowledge and experience managing the operations and finances of companies in the most difficult and competitive sectors of the semiconductor industry,” said Dirk Meyer, AMD CEO. “This knowledge and experience will enable him to further strengthen AMD’s financial foundation and help accelerate our transformation into a product design and marketing leader.”
Prior to his most recent roles as CFO and COO for Qimonda, he was senior vice president and general manager of the Wireline Business Group at Infineon AG. Seifert holds a degree and an M.B.A. from Friedrich Alexandra University and a master’s degree in economics from Wayne State University.
