Between them bringing more than 20 years of management experience in the semiconductor industry, Kurt Sievers and Frans Scheper have joined the NXP Semiconductor management team as general manager for the automotive business and general manager for the standard products business, respectively. The appointments were made to further the company’s strategic High Performance Mixed Signal (HPMS) technology development.
Sievers takes responsibility for the overall automotive business unit from president and CEO Rick Clemmer, who held the role on an interim basis. Sievers’ latest role was as manager of the automotive safety and comfort business line.
Scheper takes on the newly-created role of general manager for the standard products business. Scheper served as general manager of NXP’s general applications (discretes) business line within the multimarket semiconductors business.
“These new appointments bring added strength to the team, providing the leadership skills, specialist market knowledge and operational rigor that are essential in enabling us to grow our automotive and standard products businesses as part of our ambition to focus and lead in High Performance Mixed Signal while delivering excellence in standard products,” said Rick Clemmer.
