Gary Fazzino, a former Mayor of Palo Alto and Hewlett-Packard's Vice President of Government and Public Affairs since May 2000, has joined Applied Materials as Vice President, Government Affairs, responsible for Applied’s global government relations programs.

Prior to his role as a HP executive, Fazzino held a number of positions at HP, including Northwest Public Affairs manager, State Government Affairs manager and Director of Federal Public Policy in Washington, D.C. Fazzino also served as Mayor of Palo Alto from 1992-93 and again from 1999-2000. Fazzino holds a B.A. degree in Religious Studies from Stanford University, an M.A. degree in Public Policy from Occidental College, and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington.
