After a resolution passed at a Board of Directors meeting at Hitachi, Ltd., a change of executive positions has been announced with Eiji Takeda resigning, effective 31 October 2008, as the VP and Executive Officer, GM of Research and Development Group and Semiconductor Business division.

Junzo Kawakami, currently the Representative Executive Officer, Executive VP and Executive Officer in charge of Infrastructure Technology/Product Business, Research and Development, and Business Incubation, will become the GM of the research and Development Group and Semiconductor Business. He is also the Hitachi Group Chief Technology Officer and the GM of Medical Systems Business division.
