eSilicon has recently announced its promotion of Rob Cadman to Vice President of European Sales and Operations. Cadman will continue to be based in eSilicon’s UK office and will manage the operations that have led to eSilicon becoming one of the fastest growing and largest fables semiconductor companies in Europe. The team of over thirty people he leads is made up from the sales, design services and support functions departments.

Due to eSilicon’s growth as a fabless ASIC supplier in Europe, and its desire to keep strengthening its European operations, eSilicon will continue looking into progressing into other European countries. One such expansion came from its Bucharest, Romania design center, which improves the local expertise needed to address its customers chip development requirements. Earlier this year, eSilicon obtained the existing product lines and certain assets of SwitchCore AB, which provided high-performance Ethernet network switching chips.

"Europe is strategically important to us for many reasons; not the least of which is a solid and growing customer base that understands the value of our business model. We also have key partners like ARM, Chip Idea (MIPS) and S3 in the region, and enjoy a strong partnership with TSMC's European operations," said Jack Harding, Chairman, President and CEO of eSilicon. "Our European customers are creative, technically savvy and leaders in some of the world's biggest and fastest growing markets which is an ideal situation for a company like ours. We are looking forward to experiencing continued growth in Europe by expanding our customer base and tapping into a very qualified workforce which has played a key role in eSilicon's success."
