E. EcksteinAfter less than a two year stay at AMD as Vice President, Manufacturing of currently dormant Fab 30/38, Elke Eckstein has left to become the new Chief Operating Officer at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors.

Before moving to AMD, she was Chief Executive Officer at ALTIS Semiconductor, a joint venture between IBM and Infineon. She started her career in the Semiconductor Division of Siemens in Munich, which later became Infineon. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is a Siemens subsidiary.

Eckstein’s appointment was made effective on July 1st, however the news was only released 6 weeks later.
