SMIC has appointed Mr. Zhou Jie as a non-executive director of the company, and simultaneously re-designated Mr. Wang Zheng Gang from non-executive director to Alternate Director to Mr. Zhou. Both changes took effect on January 23rd, 2009.Mr. Zhou Jie is an executive director and the executive deputy CEO of Shanghai Industrial Holdings Limited and holds several directorships with various Shanghai-based companies. He graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with a Master's degree in management science and engineering and brings over 10 years' experience in investment banking and capital markets operations to the SMIC team.
Mr. Wang Zheng Gang, chief representative of the Shanghai representative office of Shanghai Industrial Holdings Limited, also holds the role of chairman of SIIC Management (Shanghai) Ltd. Co. Ltd., as well as several other executive roles with other Shanghai-based companies. He has a Master’s degree in economics from the School of Management of Fudan University and brings over 30 years' experience in enterprise management to SMIC.
