An interim CFO has been appointed at ASMI International, while the semiconductor equipment company continues to search for a permanent replacement to Arnold J.M. van der Ven, who will leave the company on May 14, 2009.  The new CFO is recently retired Rob Ruijter the former CFO of' The Nielsen Company.

ASM International expects to announce the proposed appointment of a permanent CFO before the end of the year.
 
Arnold van der Ven was not nominated by the Supervisory Board for reappointment due to new conditions requested in respect to his continued employment.
