Amkor Technology, Inc. has announced its plans for an executive shake-up on October 1st, as it revealed that company CEO and founder James Kim (pictured) will become Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and Ken Joyce, President and COO, will take the reins as well as a seat on the board of directors. The succession has been on the cards for some time, according to the company.
“I am honored by the trust that has been placed in me by Jim and the Board,” commented Joyce. “Jim and I have worked closely together for more than 12 years and we are fortunate that Jim will stay involved in our business so that we can continue to benefit from Jim’s 40 years of experience in our industry.”
Joyce, an Amkor employee since 1997, served as Executive Vice President and CFO for over eight years, and was appointed Chief Administrative Officer in November 2007, Chief Operating Officer in February 2008 and President in May 2008. Previous employs include a five-year term as CFO of Selas Fluid Processing Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Linde AG, and he also served as Vice President of Finance and CFO of Selas Corporation of America, which company he joined in 1981.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Mr. Joyce has a B.S. in accounting from Saint Joseph’s University and an M.B.A. in finance from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
