Paul Hyland, president and CEO of equipment supplier, Aixtron has been appointed to the SEMI Europe Advisory Board. Hyland’s task is to see a coordinated technology strategy in Europe that brings sufficient financing to the sector.
"Europe has a long, rich, and often, underappreciated, history in technology innovation and has some of the world’s leading players in cutting-edge technology within its borders,” noted Hyland.”The opportunity to leverage that strength globally depends greatly on the ability of industry, the research community and governments to sustain a ‘joined up’ and focused approach to technology development. I would like to see a more concerted effort by all parties to appreciate the valuable intellectual assets we have within Europe and to bring a coordinated technology strategy to the forefront of regional and national investment agendas."
Paul Hyland has worked for Aixtron since 2000. He has had more than 30 years experience in equipment technology, covering the Utility, Communications, Medical Device, Semiconductor and Optoelectronics sectors. Before joining Aixtron, he held positions with Smiths Industries, Alphameric, Racal and Westinghouse.
