NXP Semiconductors has appointed former Ericsson CFO Karl-Henrik Sundström (pictured) to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. Mr. Sundström replaces Peter van Bommel, who departed the company for personal reasons while agreeing to aid the company in its upcoming joint venture with STMicroelectronics. 

Erica McGill has accepted the post of in-house Media and Public Relations Specialist for SEMATECH, a role that will see her liaise with the public and press in relation to the company’s announcements, activities and programs. 

Celerity, Inc. has named Timothy Harris as CEO with immediate effect. Bringing over 25 years of management experience to the role, he departs his most recent role as CEO of Komag, a recordable media manufacturer. 

KLA-Tencor’s Board of Directors has welcomed Kiran Patel and Bob Akins (pictured) as new additions, while H. Raymond Bingham has announced his retirement from the Board, also ending his seven-year tenure as Chairman of the Audit Committee. 

Gary Meyers (pictured), President and CEO of Synplicity, Inc., has been added to the Board of Directors for Exar Coropration. He has been with Synplicity since 1998 and was appointed to the role of Vice President of worldwide sales in 1999. His past career has seen him serve on the board for SpiraTech Corp. prior to its takeover by Mentor Graphics. 

Daniel Berenbaum, formerly of Applied Materials, has joined Cowen and Company LLC as a Senior Analyst for the semiconductor sector. Berenbaum’s career as an analyst began in 2003 and has seen him work with companies including Smith Barney Citigroup and Susquehanna Financial Group, again covering the semiconductor sector. 

Chief Operating Officer Ken Joyce has added the role of President of Amkor Technology, Inc. to his title. Joyce’s former role included the roles of Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, which posts have been taken up by Gil Tily. 

Joining Oxford Instruments’ Plasma Technology division, Bernard Scanlan (pictured) departs his former role as Operations Director at the company’s Nanoscience sector to take over as General Manager of the company’s newly acquired Technologies and Devices International, Inc. (TDI) business. 

A Mentor Graphics employee since 2002, Simon Bloch (pictured) has accepted the role of Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Design and Synthesis division. In this role he will be based in the company’s San Jose office and will oversee all field programmable gate array (FPGA) and electronic system level (ESL) design and synthesis products.
