Shin-Etsu Chemical licenses SOI IP from SiGen Print E-mail

Silicon Genesis Corporation (SiGen has entered into a broad intellectual property license agreement with Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. of Tokyo Japan (Shin-Etsu), the company reported today. Shin-Etsu will have rights to SiGen's "NanoTec" suite of technologies and includes the purchase of SiGen proprietary equipment, that will be used to develop layer transfer substrates for opto-electronic applications. "We look forward to utilizing SiGen's technologies in our opto-electronic processes," stated Mr. Yasuhiko Saitoh, Senior Managing Director of Shin-Etsu. "With the NanoTec technology, we hope to provide substrates in a cost effective high volume manufacturing operation to produce high performance opto-electronic devices."
