Wafer grower Okmetic Oyj claimed today that due to strong orders in the first half of September the Finnish company had cancelled plans to shut down its operations for the annual Christmas and New Year period of one week.

Okmetic specializes in the manufacture of micromechanical MEMS sensor wafers. The company has plants in Vantaa, Finland and in Allen, Texas in North America.
