Mario Rivas (pictured), formerly Executive Vice President, Computing Solutions Group and Michel Cadieux, formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Talent Officer, have left AMD to pursue new opportunities, according to the Company, as part of a wider transformation of the struggling microprocessor and graphics chip set producer.
AMD said that a new Centralized Engineering organization has been created that will be co-led by Chekib Akrout, who is joining AMD from Freescale Semiconductor, where he was Vice President of Design Technology and Jeff VerHeul, Corporate Vice President of design engineering at AMD.
The Central Engineering leadership team will direct the development and execution of AMD's technology and product roadmaps and will report directly to Dirk Meyer, AMD’s President and COO.
In his new role as Senior Vice President, Computing Solutions Group, Randy Allen will now report directly Dirk Meyer. Allen is a twenty-four year veteran at AMD.
Allen Sockwell, who worked with Meyer previously, takes on the role left by Cadieux. Sockwell will now report directly to Meyer as the new Chief Talent Officer.
