Pedro (Pete) Rodriguez (pictured) has stepped in to fill the vacancy of President and CEO of Exar Corporation, which had been filled on an interim basis since December 2007 by John McFarlane. Mr. Rodriguez, who has been a company director since October 2005, will assume the role from April 28th. 

His most recent role was as Chief Marketing Officer with Virage Logic Corp., prior to which he was CEO, President and Director of Xpedion Design Systems, Inc. Rodriguez has also held senior management roles in sales and marketing with LSI Corp. and Escalade Corp., and design and process engineering posts with Teledyne Microwave, Siliconix and Aerojet Electronics earlier in his career.  

He has a B.S. in chemical engineering from California Institute of Technology, an M.S.E.E. from California Polytechnic University and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
