Dr. Edward Ross (pictured), a seasoned industry veteran with a wealth of industry leadership experience, has been appointed to the Atmel Board as an Independent Director. Dr. Ross’s most recent role was as President Emeritus of TSMC North America, to which role he was appointed in 2005. 

Prior to his appointment as President of TSMC from 2000 to 2004, he worked as Senior Vice President of Synopsys, Inc., while from 1995 to 1998 he was President of Technology and Manufacturing at Cirrus Logic, Inc. Currently a director for Volterra Semiconductor, Inc. and California Micro Devices Corporation, Dr. Ross has a B.S.E.E. from Drexel University and an M.S.E.E., an M.A. and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.

Atmel is an IC manufacturer based in California.
