Apr 15, 2008 at 11:09 AM

ImageConexant has announced the departure of President and CEO Daniel Artusi after a mere 10 months in the role. Artusi has resigned to pursue other opportunities, according to the company, and will be replaced in the role of CEO by D. Scott Mercer (pictured), a member of the Board.

The company has also promoted former Senior Vice President of worldwide sales Christian Scherp to the role of President, and has promoted Sailesh Chittipeddi to Executive Vice President of global operations and CTO.

Mr. Mercer currently serves on the board of directors for Palm, Inc., Polycom, Inc., Adaptec, Inc. and SMART Modular Technologies, Inc. He is currently serving as Chairman for Adaptec and was interim CEO for the company in 2005.

He also held roles such as CFO, CEO advisor and EVP with Western Digital Corporation; CFO at TeraLogic; CFO at LSI Logic Corp.; various financial management roles with Dell, Inc.; and began his career with Price Waterhouse in San Jose. Mercer has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the California Polytechnic University at Pomona.

Conexant is a fabless semiconductor company.

Unfortunately, the company has never really shown any success since spinning off from Rockwell. None, something like 4bil in total losses. Maybe too much Rockwell mentality. The high stk price during the tulip boom wasn't based on reality/numbers. Goodbye a wasted 25000 shares. Robert, ChipCareers.com

Let me rephrase your post...Why did you let Mr. Artusi to go 2 weeks before the CC? Maybe there are too many managers?
