Finance expert Howard A. Bain III (pictured) was added to the Nanometrics Board on April 1st, and also takes up the additional roles of member and Chairman of the company’s Audit Committee. A seasoned finance executive, Mr. Bain has served as CFO and as a board member for several public technology companies in his 30 years in the industry. 

Mr. Bain has held the role of CFO with companies such as Symantec, Portal Software and Vicinity, and currently serves on the board for Learning Tree International, Turin Networks and eCivis. He has a B.S. in business from California Polytechnic University and has qualified an independent director and an audit committee financial expert under the rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission as set out under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
