ImagePraxair has followed Air Liquide in raising silane (monosilane, SiH4) prices by between 20 and 30 percent, effective immediately, the company announced.

“This action will allow Praxair to continue to invest in supply and distribution capabilities around the world to meet our customers’ need for reliable silane supply,” said Ray Roberge, President of Praxair Electronics.

Praxair cited increasing raw materials costs and demand out-stripping supply due to growth in the photovoltaics and liquid-crystal display industries for the price rise.
