Voltaix LLC has announced that due to increased demand for germane from
both the semiconductor and solar industries, it plans to expand
production of the compound. The expansion will include the completion
of the installation of a previously constructed skid-mounted site, the
location of which was not disclosed by the company.
Production at the new site is expected to commence in 15 months, and
the anticipated manufacturing capacity should reach over 50 tons per
year. The company has also been working at increasing germane output at
its existing plant in North Branch, New Jersey. To date, the company
has increased production by over 200% at the New Jersey site.

expansions provide the capacity and production redundancy our current
and future customers need to support growth of their germane-based
manufacturing technologies,” said Matt Stephensn (pictured), COO,
Voltaix. “Germanium significantly improves thin film solar device
efficiencies, enables strained silicon technologies for computer CPUs,
and is central to newly emerging germanium channel and gate
applications. We are committed to serving the market needs for germane
through continuous improvement of our capacity, supply chain
redundancy, and product quality.”
