Ex-Micron R&D expert joins MagnaChip |

MagnaChip Semiconductor has announced the addition of Dr. Ilia Ovsiannikov to the team as Vice President of SoC Engineering, reporting to President and CFO Robert Krakauer (pictured). Dr. Ovsiannikov joins the company from Micron, and will apply his years of research expertise to his new role as head of MagnaChip’s engineering and head of the company’s new Image Signal Processing Advanced Research Center.
At Micron, Dr. Ovsiannikov was R&D Manager and Imaging Architect. He also worked as a research scientist at Rockwell Scientific and Photobit. Throughout his years in the industry, he has filed over 20 patent applications in areas including CMOS pixel technology, defect correction and noise reduction. He has a B.S. in computer engineering from MIREA Moscow State Technical University, and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Southern California.
