Over 200 job cuts on the horizon for newly merged AMIS and ON Semi Print E-mail
Mar 19, 2008 at 05:32 PM

The merger between AMI Semiconductor and ON Semiconductor is now complete, the company has announced, but not without staff losses. The impending closure of Fab 9 will see job cuts of approximately 150 over the next two years, while immediate layoffs of close to 60 people will be completed within the next 30 days, according to a local newspaper

Pocatello-based Fab 9 is a legacy 150mm (partially 200mm-converted) fab that will be shut down over the next 18-24 months, with production to be moved to both local facilities and Europe.
