Alberto MacchiAMD has announced the appointment of Emilio Ghilardi as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the EMEA region, commencing in mid-August 2008. The company also announced the resignation of Alberto Macchi (pictured), Corporate Vice President of sales and marketing for the EMEA region, citing the pursuit if new opportunities as the reason for his departure.

Mr. Ghilardi’s most recent role was as Vice President and General Manager of HP’s EMEA Consumer Business Unit. He held a similar role in the company’s Commercial Hardware section within the Imaging and Printing Group, and also served as Vice President of Consumer PC Clients in EMEA.
