Last week saw Freescale Semiconductor announce the departure of its CEO Michael Mayer, and the beginning of a search for a replacement leader. The company has revealed the new face of Freescale Semiconductor as Rich Beyer (pictured), who has resigned his role as Intersil CEO to join Freescale.
Stepping into the role in March, Mr. Beyer will also assume the role of Chairman from Michael Mayer, who remains in the role until the transition has come into effect. Mr. Beyer was President, CEO and Director of Elantec Semiconductor, Inc. when it was acquired by Intersil in 2002.
He has worked with VLSI Technology as President, COO and Director; with National Semiconductor as EVP and COO, and is currently on the Board of Directors for the SIA, Credence Systems and Xceive Corp.
Rich Beyer has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Russian from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. in marketing and international business from Columbia University.
