Praxair, has been
selected as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the
third consecutive year. This puts Praxair among the top 10 percent of the
world's largest 2,500 companies in 34 countries that are included in the index
because of their industry leadership in corporate sustainability, according to
the company.
"Inclusion in
this index recognizes Praxair's superior performance across the full spectrum
of corporate activity," said Praxair Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Dennis Reilley. "It further reinforces our commitment to sustainable
growth, building on our long track record of bringing innovative environmental
and productivity benefits to our customers as well as our own operations."
Corporations are
selected for the index after a thorough assessment of economic, environmental
and social criteria with a major focus on long-term shareholder-value creation.
The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index was launched in 1999.
