Asyst offers 64-bit implementation of SECS/GEM tool connectivity products |

 Asyst Technologies has said that it has responded to semiconductor equipment manufacturers’ needs for supplying faster access to real-time data and overall greater throughput to process tool operating data with the implementation of SECS/GEM tool connectivity products for 64-bit computing architectures.
Jim Holliday, Vice President and General Manager for Asyst’s productivity solutions group, said, “As the leading supplier of equipment connectivity and data management software for 200mm and 300mm semiconductor manufacturing tools, Asyst has dramatically expanded its software product portfolio to address this industry shift and the needs of customers by ensuring that our SECS/GEM software products are fully compatible with 32 bit and 64-bit architectures.”
Asyst said that OEMs are shifting from 32-bit to 64-bit operating systems on new or enhanced tool platforms.
