X-FAB Sarawak, Malaysia has been noted by the parent company X-FAB Silicon Foundries for successfully incorporating four complex processes and adding a new 180nm process to its foundry capabilities all within 15 months since the official acquisition of the fab by W-FAB.
“I am very pleased with the significant progress X-FAB has achieved in making high-performance analog/mixed-signal technologies available in Sarawak in such a short timeframe,” highlighted Manfred Riemer, Chief Operating Officer at X-FAB. “All of these transferred technologies are fully compatible with associated X-FAB design kits, and are easily accessible by our customers.”
The processes transferred included two 0.6 micrometer processes, an analog/mixed-signal process, and a high-performance BiCMOS process. X-FAB also moved two 0.35 micrometer processes that included a high-performance analog/mixed-signal process with high-voltage and embedded non-volatile memory (NVM), and a low-threshold process with embedded non-volatile memory.
