Micronas’ set top boxes for IPTV applications have been discontinued, the company announced.  The company’s restructuring efforts will result in approximately 100 job cuts in Santa Clara, while an estimated 20 employees will be lost in Shanghai, China. 

This follows news that Micronas planned to cut back on spending in the field of R&D, and is expecting losses for 2007.  Completion of restructuring activities is anticipated by the end of the first quarter of 2008.
