According to a news story by Reuters' Chief Executive Frans van Houten, NXP Semiconductors has stated in an interview that approximately 200 NXP researchers will be affected by the withdrawal from the Crolles2 Alliance with ST Microelectronics and Freescale Semiconductor by the end of 2007.

Some may move to IMEC in Belgium to continue the development work while others may be recruited by Alliance partners and remain on programs at the Crolles2 facility, Reuters reported.
