Worldwide semiconductor equipment sales top $11 billion in 3Q07 |

Worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached $11.13 billion in the third quarter of 2007, according to new data released by SEMI. Billings are one percent higher than the second quarter of 2007.
SEMI said that worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings for the third quarter were $8.93 billion, 23 percent less than the same quarter a year ago, and 10 percent less than the bookings figure for the second quarter of 2007. 
In other news, Japanese semiconductor equipment manufacturers posted a book-to-bill ratio of 0.78 for October. The bookings figure is 1.8 percent down on the final September 2007 level and 23.2 percent down in orders posted in October 2006.
