NEC Electronics America has hired 60 new employees for its recently
expanded fab in Roseville, California. Roseville is a 150mm wafer
facility using 355-250nm processes but has recently added a 200mm line
that will be capable of 150nm production.
"Our company has been impressed by the caliber of talent available in
the greater Roseville area," said Gabe Kim, vice president of
manufacturing operations and plant manager, NEC Electronics America.
"With such fine employees and leading-edge manufacturing capabilities,
we have built a reputation for providing a secure supply chain while
meeting rigorous quality standards."
The
company expects to see increased demand for 0.15-micron-based products
from customers in the automotive industry, as well as from designers
using general purpose semiconductors in consumer devices such as
digital cameras, memory sticks, and mobile and handheld products.
