Winfried Kaiser becomes first Carl Zeiss Fellow Print E-mail

W. KaiserCarl Zeiss’s establishment in 2005 of a technical ladder consisted of a five-stage process by which technical staff advancements could be ranked.  Winfried Kaiser is the first since the ladder’s formation to reach the top and thereby being nominated Carl Zeiss Fellow. 

The presentation of the accolade by Carl Zeiss CEO and President Dr. Dieter Kurz and Dr. Hermann Gerlinger, Member of the Executive Board and President and CEO of Carl Zeiss SMT, took place on November 6th, 2007 in recognition of the contribution and expertise of Mr. Kaiser.  He is currently a member of a finalist team for the 2007 German Future Prize for EUV optics development.

Current Vice President of Product Strategy for Carl Zeiss, Kaiser is responsible for “all products from the Lithography Optics Division at Carl Zeiss SMT…his successful work has led to his acceptance as a fully entitled member at the product policy meeting at our Dutch Partner ASML,” said Dr. Gerlinger.

Carl Zeiss SMT AG is a major component and equipment supplier to the semiconductor industry.
