Air Products has said that its Taiwan subsidiary Air Products San Fu Co. Ltd. has signed a long-term contract with Rexchip Semiconductor to supply nitrogen and other bulk gases to its two 300mm fabs in the Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP) in Houli, Taichung.
"This contract reinforces the partnership we have forged with Powerchip over the years. It also demonstrates our commitment to focus on what our customers value the most," said David Price, regional vice president and general manager of Asia Electronics, Air Products. "Our new investment also enables us to establish a strong position in the CTSP, which is set to be another cluster of high tech industries."
Air Products is building two new nitrogen plants in the CTSP to handle production needs of Rexchip’s planned capacity at the site of approximately 240,000wspm when the site is fully occupied with at least four 300mm fabs. Rexchip started DRAM production in July 2007.
