Friends in the industry remember MICRO Print E-mail
Jul 21, 2006 at 09:58 AM
As the news about MICRO's final chapter circulates through the semiconductor manufacturing sector, we've received some touching calls and letters. Here's one I want to share (with permission), from Mike Martinez, VP of corporate marketing and investor relations at Aviza Technology, a process equipment company.

I've known Mike and several other folks at Aviza for years, seeing them go through many job changes along the way (something that gives me confidence in whatever transition awaits me!). Here's the letter.
It was brought to our attention that MICRO's July 2006 issue would be your last. This publication not only been part of our industry over the past 20 years but in many ways part of our lives for those of us who have grown up and seen our industry expand across the globe. Many of us got used to seeing the issue hit our mail box as you were clearly one of the key publications that we all came to follow.

Speaking on behalf of the management team and everyone else at Aviza, we want to be one of the first to let you know that MICRO and even more importantly the MICRO team will be missed greatly. It has been a great and long partnership as we have followed each other from company to company.

We wish each of you the very best and hope to see you surface soon.

Thank you for 20+ years of contribution to our industry and for the friendships we created. It has been a sincere pleasure.

Thank you, Mike. I look forward to hearing from others about what MICRO and its team meant to them and to the industry.
