Factory Mutual 4910 rated resistant PVDF high purity sheet Print E-mail

ImageProduct Briefing Outline: George Fischer has announced the availability of its new Factory Mutual (FM) 4910 PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) high purity sheet material, which meets the requirements of FM Clean Room Materials Flammability Test Protocol, Class 4910.

Problem: FM 4910 is the fire retardant property established by Factory Mutual Research, an affiliate of FM Global, a worldwide industrial insurance organization. With Factory Mutual listing now required by most insurance companies, the new PVDF Sheet provides a timely answer for companies seeking compliance. Materials meeting FM guidelines offset the potential for contamination by smoke and corrosive byproducts associated with fire, by providing products inherently safe upon installation. FM approved materials also offer significant benefits in terms of reduced fire risks and elimination of the need for costly fire suppression systems.

Solution: Manufactured from Kynar 740 resin, the new sheet features a double-masked surface for high quality. Other performance characteristics include fully traceable and verifiable resin, excellent chemical resistance, UV stability, and high quality machining and welding.

Applications: Excellent colour consistency and dimensional tolerances exceed other products currently available, providing a new solution for semiconductor OEMs.

Platform: Available in sizes 4-foot x 8-foot with thicknesses ranging from 1/8-inch through 1-inch, the new sheet features a tolerance consistency per ASTM D6713-01 and combustibility approvals by FM 4910, UL2360 and ASTM E84.

Availability: July 2004 onwards.
