Semicon wrap: Chip Scale Review's "Tuesday Report" posts charming photo album Print E-mail

In an age of large, ever-more-corporate trade publishing outfits, a magazine like Chip Scale Review stands as a rare example of a truly independent, one-magazine shop. Publisher Gene Selven and editor Ron Iscoff do a bang-up job serving and covering the "back end" semiconductor processing (packaging, etc.) sector against considerable odds.

Ron is an accomplished photographer as well, and I have many memories of him slogging around Semicons with his gear, sweat dripping off his brow and the next shot forming in his head. His photo albums are an endearing part of CSR, a throwback to simpler times when the personalities in the tech biz actually had faces, not head shots.

CSR publishes "The Tuesday Report" e-newsletter every week, and the current Semicon wrap-up edition has dozens of Ron's photos from this year's show. Although you will be hard-pressed to find many "front enders" among those captured on "film," the images are a reminder that it is the people---not the technology or profit margins---that are the heart and soul of the semiconductor manufacturing community. Here's the link to the newsletter.
