SEMI should be lauded for its recent efforts to update Semicon West and make it more relevant and, yes, interesting in the ever-morphing world of chips, panels, and other micro/nano gizmology.
The creation of the TechXpots, focused technology presentation areas spread around several Moscone exhibit halls, came none too soon. Anyone with any kind of badge---attendee, exhibitor, press, stinking---can check out the lineup for no additional charge! There were also keynotes, panels, and other events available to discerning users for, that's right, no additional charge! As a result, a Semicon West badge had alot more bang for the buck than it used to, all for no additional charge!
I had been hounding various SEMI employees about getting copies of some of those TechXpot presos, especially the ones delivered at one of my haunts this year, the Emerging Technologies schpot in the West Hall. Earlier today, Lubab Sheet, the org's maven of techs emerging and creator of LuBlog, included me in her email blast, which included the link to a page with more links to more pages with more links. In other words, the presos, they are available.
In the interest of the greater good and full disclosure, here's that link to the TechXpot presos, for no additional charge! That said, any donations to Chip Shots will be gladly accepted.
