Texas Instruments to stop chip production at Tucson, AZ fab Print E-mail

TITexas Instruments executives noted during its most recent quarterly conference call to report financial results that its manufacturing operations in Tucson will cease for some engineering development work. TI expects to incur total restructuring charges of about $35 million and save $20 million annually.

How much longer until they close more fabs in the US? Production costs here are not competitive with overseas. ST Microelectronics has announced it is stopping all US production.
